Singer, Helen Adaobi, aka Olumireggae, has said that the age long exploitation of the African continent inspired her Fresh Mike-produced new single, Mama Africa.
Olumireggae, who is signed to the Europe-based Ohac Records, stated that the major inspiration behind her music was the need to show Africa in a positive light. She told Sunday Scoop, “My latest song, Mama Africa, deals with the long exploitation of the African continent. I feel it is high time we tell our story our own way. We have a beautiful continent and I have resolved that everything I do musically would revolve around promoting the black race.”
Adaobi, who is also the CEO of OHAC Records, said she was inspired by some Africans stars such as Youssour Ndour, Salif Keita, the late Miriam Makeba, among others
